Wickwar Environmental Action Group Needs Your Help!
In the parish of Wickwar, we are blessed with beautiful countryside, including precious grassland meadows, the
early reaches of the Little River Avon and the largest ancient woodland in the south west, Lower Woods, plus
much more.
Wickwar is one of the few local places where you can still hear skylarks, and we provide a home for vulnerable
dormice, hedgehogs, Great Crested Newts and bats, whilst ‘at risk’ swifts and House Martins still return annually.
But too few of our local natural places are connected for nature to thrive and we believe we can all do more to
provide a welcome space for plants, insects, birds and animals, to help support nature’s recovery. This natural
connectivity is vitally important.
We want to protect and enhance the nature that is most important to all those who live in Wickwar. This is where we need you to help us! We need you to tell us what is more or less important to you – To do this, please complete the short survey below. We can then focus our efforts on the things that YOU, OUR WICKWAR COMMUNITY see as most important. Thank you!!
What will we do with the survey results? These results will then help us build the Local Nature Action Plan (LNAP) for Wickwar.
So, what is an LNAP? It’s a wide ranging plan, created with stakeholders from across our community, which will
help us achieve 2 key things –
1) Encourage more people in the community to help our local nature’s recovery.
2) Nurturing, creating and joining-up places for nature to thrive and grow.

Nature Priorities in Wickwar
The UK’s nature is amazing. It’s also our support system, and we need to look after it! Through our Local Nature Action Plan (LNAP), we want to nurture the amazing nature we have in Wickwar, with the people who live here at the core.
