Footpaths and Nature

We are lucky to live in a beautiful area with so many special sites. Public rights of way, including public footpaths and bridleways, criss-cross the parish and provide a great opportunity to explore the great outdoors on your doorstep. For queries or to report a problem, please contact South Gloucestershire Council.

Wickwar’s Local Nature Action Plan

Wickwar has it’s very own LNAP, to encourage the community to help our local nature’s recovery and to also to nurture, create and join-up places that help nature to thrive. You can read the latest version of the Action Plan here:

Wickwar Nature & Remembrance Trails

Wickwar environmental action group (WEAG) and Andrea Wheal of Inglestone Design – Garden & Landscape Design, have produced two ‘Nature & Remembrance’ walking trail maps suitable for all ages and abilities.  The short and long routes capture historical and natural sites of interest in Wickwar and the local countryside, including the stunning VE Day 75th Anniversary bench (pictured). Head to the Town Hall on the High Street to start your walk, where you will find a copy of both trails displayed on the noticeboard. You can also download the maps from the links below.
