Advice from your Neighbourhood Policing Team – Chipping Sodbury | Avon and Somerset Police
At the Neighbourhood Beat Surgery last week our local PCSO advised us that household burglaries are still happening locally and residents should be vigilant. Investigations are going on behind the scenes, but no-one has been caught as yet.
According to the Police there are some simple steps that you can take to make it look like you are at home and to deter potential burglars:
- use timer switches on internal lights;
- add motion sensors or timer switches to external lights;
- video doorbells (for example Ring) are a good security feature;
- store your valuables (jewellery, cash etc) in different hard-to-find places – the burglaries that have taken place have been quick.
