Volunteers needed – Churchyard tidy up before Remembrance Sunday and post-Fireworks clear up

This year’s Remembrance Sunday is on 10th November and we traditionally make a big effort on the preceding Saturday morning to clear The Stank and tidy the church yard, cutting back low branches, removing leaves, weeding and sweeping the paths where necessary, particularly around the access to the church and the war memorial.
So, any assistance in making that possible on Saturday 9th Nov from 09.30 onwards would be greatly appreciated; if we get the numbers we usually finish by midday at the very latest!
If you can spare an hour or two to assist, I look forward to seeing you there in appropriate clothing for the weather. Please bring gloves and any suitable garden tools – rakes, hoes, brooms, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers, dumpy bags etc.

Refreshments:

Buffy is back to leading on refreshments this year, so if anyone would like to volunteer to help &/or supply cake & biscuits I know that would be really appreciated by those clearing up.

ADDITIONAL CLEAR-UP AFTER THE WICKWAR FIREWORKS – SUNDAY 5 NOVEMBER

There is another opportunity to help with clearing up in the morning after the Village Fireworks – Sunday 3 November from 10.00 onwards, or earlier if you prefer!. If you are available to pick up empty fireworks, packaging, litter etc across the whole field beyond the kissing gate, that would be brilliant. See you there!

Thank you in anticipation for any support you can provide on both days.
