A request from from Jonathan Lee (Wickwar PCC)
Hi all,
This year’s Remembrance Sunday is on 14 November and we traditionally make a big effort on the preceding Saturday morning to clear The Stank and tidy the church yard, cutting back low branches, removing leaves, weeding and sweeping the paths where necessary, particularly around the access to the church and the war memorial – grass cutting is routinely done by the Council.
So, any assistance in making that possible on Saturday 13 Nov from 09:00 onwards would be greatly appreciated; if we get the numbers we usually finish by midday at the very latest!
For the first time in many years I will unfortunately not be there as Buffy has a significant birthday that weekend and we have other family plans that day. However, Caroline Baker (07796 065601) has very kindly agreed to be the primary POC on the day.
If you can spare an hour or two to assist, Caroline looks forward to seeing you there. Please bring any suitable garden tools – rakes, hoes, brooms, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers, dumpy bags etc..
Refreshments:
Additionally, Buffy would normally lead on refreshments, so if any of you would like to volunteer to help & supply hot and cold refreshments, cake & biscuits (in a Covid-compliant manner!) I know that would be really appreciated by those clearing up.

ADDITIONAL CLEAR-UP AFTER THE FIREWORKS – SUNDAY 7 NOVEMBER
There is another opportunity to help the Wickwar PCC clear up, which is the morning after the Village Fireworks – Sunday 7 November from 10.00 onwards. If you are available to pick up empty fireworks, packaging, litter etc across the whole field beyond the kissing gate, that would be brilliant. See you there!
