We are delighted to welcome back the beautifully refurbished Town Hall clock face. Thanks again to our contractors, the Cumbria Clock Company, who have done a fantastic job. It was lovely to hear the positive comments from those watching and passing by.
Around the country councils are planning how they will celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, marking her 70 years on the throne. The refurbished clock face will form a central part of the celebrations and we plan to hold an open day and proper unveiling ceremony. We feel that this is a fitting tribute to Her Majesty, especially as the clock face was last renovated in 1977 to mark her Silver Jubilee!
Tony Gardham, a keen photographer from the village, captured the event in still shots and video, and has offered to edit a video of the occasion to go on this website in due course. Thank you to the residents of Wickwar for your patience whilst we arranged for this work to take place.
