January public meeting requested – proposed Crest Nicholson development on land off Inglestone Road

The Parish Council has written to developers Crest Nicholson requesting a public meeting via online video-conferencing, on the proposed development of 150 houses off Inglestone Road Wickwar. The developers have informally agreed to arrange a meeting before the end of the public consultation period (22nd January 2021). As soon as a date for the meeting is finalised the Parish Council will publicise this as widely as possible.

In the letter, which can be downloaded below, the Parish Council states that it feels the public consultation as it stands is not adequate and makes two requests.

  1. That Crest Nicholson immediately makes public all pre-application planning advice received from South Gloucestershire Council. This is in light of the fact that the proposal is speculative and does not comply with South Gloucestershire Council’s adopted Core Strategy (policy CS34 Rural Areas) nor the adopted Policies, Sites and Places plan.
  2. That Crest Nicholson confirms the details of a public meeting as soon as possible, and in any event by 11th January 2021 at the latest.

All residents are welcome to attend the public meeting and are urged to do so, to ask questions and register their views on the proposed development. In the meantime please make your views known via the developer’s consultation questionnaire survey – direct link (deadline 22nd January 2021).
