Bloor Homes have informed the Parish Council that the consultation website for a proposed 180 houses on land west of Sodbury Road, Wickwar is now live.

PLEASE NOTE that this is a speculative proposal. Development of the South Gloucestershire Local Plan is ongoing and NO sites for housing development have yet been identified. Sites are not due to be identified and consulted on until late 2021.
Anyone interested in the proposals is urged to visit the website and submit their comments. Bloor Homes have been asked to confirm the closing date for the consultation, and we await their response.
The Parish Council recognizes that the size of this proposed development is significant and that Wickwar is severely lacking in the infrastructure required to make the village a sustainable location for development. It is therefore vital that this proposal is communicated as widely as possible, and that residents may ask questions and make comments. The Parish Council has made the following requests to Bloor Homes.
1. The Council has requested that all houses in the parish receive a copy of the plans via a leaflet. (Bloor Homes have previously advised the Council that leaflets will be delivered to existing houses in the village and we are awaiting confirmation of when this will take place.)
2. Furthermore, the Council has requested that Bloor Homes organize an online public meeting after the leaflets have been distributed, and before the public consultation ends. This may be via Zoom or another appropriate online platform, and is vital to enable residents to ask questions. An online meeting has been requested as it is felt to be the safest option whilst the COVID-19 case rate remains high. (We are awaiting a response to this request).
