Crest Nicholson is preparing to submit an outline planning application for a residential development on land off Inglestone Road, Wickwar. Proposal for new houses.
When is the Parish Council going to stop allowing the massed building of housing in the village, The village has just absorbed 170 new houses, but no new local jobs have been created, so it means more commuting and car journeys and this, in light of the fact that the village store has gone and the pub is up for new management and more worrying, the 20 acres plot that has just been sold by the playing field will undoubtedly end up as housing. Is Wickwar destined to be nothing more than a large housing conurbation with no heart. If so let me know as I for one will start thinking about moving, I moved from Yate 5 years ago to escape traffic pollution and wall to wall housing.
Dear Simon. The Parish Council is a consultee only in the planning process and does not make decisions about planning applications. All planning applications are decided by the planning authority – South Gloucestershire Council. Wickwar Parish Council opposed both developments along the Sodbury Road on the grounds that they did not comply with the Core Strategy and planning policies for South Gloucestershire.
