Wickwar Parish Council has been contacted by the developer Bloor Homes this week. They have informed us that they are considering plans to build up to 180 houses on land to the west of Sodbury Road (opposite the new Bellway and Linden Homes developments).
This proposal is in addition to a Crest Nicholson proposal to build 130 houses on land east of Inglestone Road. (An outline planning application is due to be submitted to South Gloucestershire Council).
PLEASE NOTE that this is a speculative proposal, as is the Crest Nicholson one. Development of the South Gloucestershire Local Plan is ongoing and NO sites for housing development have yet been identified. Sites are not due to be identified and consulted on until late 2021.
We have received limited details of the proposal so far – the email sent on behalf of Bloor Homes is copied below.
What next?
The Parish Council will write to Bloor Homes to request that they hold an online public meeting (using Zoom or a similar platform) once they have made their plans public. This meeting should allow anyone interested to attend and ask questions/ make comments about the plans. An online meeting is being requested because of the ongoing risk of Covid-19 infection.
We urge residents to look out for details of the public consultation and respond to it with your views. It is vitally important that the developers are made aware of what local people think about the proposals before they submit a planning application.
