We are delighted to unveil a video tribute to our wonderful Town Hall clock, filmed and edited by keen local photographer Tony Gardham, for the people of Wickwar to enjoy. The video also includes footage of the clock mechanism as it chimes, a sight that only a few villagers have witnessed until now.
The clock face was recently restored as a tribute to the Queen on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee, which will be celebrated next year. The Platinum Jubilee will mark her 70 years on the throne. The refurbished clock face forms a central part of the celebrations and we plan to hold an open day and proper unveiling ceremony next year. We feel that this project and the accompanying video is a fitting tribute to Her Majesty, especially as the clock face was last renovated in 1977 to mark her Silver Jubilee!
