Parishioners may have heard that we have The Revd Catherine Coomber being ‘Licenced and Installed’ as our new Priest-in-Charge for the Wickwar Benefice, at a Service at 7pm on Monday 14th July at Holy Trinity Church, Wickwar. The Rt Reverend Robert Springett (Bishop of Tewkesbury) will be in attendance and like any church service, everyone is very welcome to attend.
To ensure our church looks its very best, The Wickwar Parochial Church Council would really appreciate some assistance in a ‘super-clean and polish’ of the church plus ‘clearing and tidying’ the churchyard, The Stank, Church Lane access and the Car Park, cutting back low branches and hedges, removing debris, weeding and sweeping the paths – grass cutting is routinely done by the Council – however there may be some strimming required as well.
So, any assistance in making that possible on Saturday 12th July from 10.00 would be greatly appreciated; if we get the numbers we should be finished by midday at the very latest!
If you can spare an hour or two to assist, I look forward to seeing you there in appropriate clothing for the weather.
If you prefer to clean inside, please bring your preferred cleaning materials and furniture polish etc. as we may not have enough for everybody.
For those working outside, please bring gloves and any suitable garden tools – rakes, hoes, brooms, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers, strimmers, dumpy bags etc.
Refreshments:
Refreshments will be available in the Church Room, so if anyone would like to volunteer to help Buffy &/or supply cake & biscuits I know that would be really appreciated by those clearing up.
Thank you very much in anticipation for any support you can provide.
